Terry Fox: A Story of Hope |
Created in co-operation with the Terry Fox Foundation and Terry Fox's family, this is the first authorized biography ever written specifically for young readers and is being published in time for the 25th anniversary of the Marathon of Hope. Dozens of colour photographs -- many from the family's own collection -- and simple text by Maxine Trottier combine to tell the story of Terry's life and legacy. The book tells about Terry's attempt to run across Canada to raise awareness and money for cancer research, but also describes his life before he lost his leg to cancer: how he grew up loving sports and was always determined to finish what he started. The author's royalties and a matching donation from the publisher will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation. |
