New in the 2009 edition:
  • New Commentary under the recently amended Criminal Proceeding Rules regarding pre-trial conferences (Rule 28), case management (Rule 29), and trial proceedings and evidence (Rules 30-34) has been added.
  • Criminal Code Related Provisions in chapters 5, Rule 1 (Criminal Code section 673), chapter 7, rule 1 (Criminal Code section 2), and chapter 10, rules 40 and 41 (Criminal Code sections 261 and 785) have been amended pursuant to An Act to Amend the Criminal Code (Street Racing), S.C. 2006, c.14.
  • Jurisprudence has been fully updated with the addition of more than 50 new case annotations covering recent developments on such matters as: Cost orders against the Crown for third party production orders - R v. Magda; Crown prosecutorial discretion and cost orders - R v. Knott; Crown’s duty in obtaining appeal from an acquittal - R v. Graveline; Cost orders against the Crown by third parties not - R v.
