Info Source: Sources of Federal Government Information explains the Government of Canada's organization and information holdings in order to help you find information. It will help you determine where to go, write or call to make government enquiries. It also clarifies which information you have a right to access under the Access to Information Act, and which information is protected under the Privacy Act.

The CD-ROM Info Source 2008 contains files in PDF format with links to Info Source information published on the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's website. Note: all Info Source publications are available free of charge on the internet: http://www.infosource.gc.ca.

Info Source 2008 CD-ROM contains:

Sources of Federal Government Information about the functions, programs, activities and related information holdings of federal government institutions subject to the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act. It also provides individuals and current and former federal government employees with relevant information to access personal information about them held by federal government institutions and to exercise their rights under the Privacy Act;
Sources of Federal Employee Information, which lists personal information banks on federal employees for all government institutions subject to the Privacy Act;
Directory of Federal Government Enquiry Points, which lists contact information; and
Annual Access to Information Act and Privacy Act Bulletin. This bulletin contains summaries of federal court cases and statistics of requests made under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

The 2008 CD-ROM replaces the previous print editions of Info Source: Sources of Federal Government Information and Info Sources: Sources of Federal Employee Information. These print publications have been discontinued by the Treasury Board Secretariat.
