Published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, 2009.

This is a biannual publication with printed issues usually released in July and January. The June 2009 No. 85 issue was released August 2009. The December 2008 No. 84 issue was released January 2009.

Description:

Twice a year, the OECD Economic Outlook analyzes the major trends and examines the economic policies required to foster high and sustainable growth in member countries including Canada. Developments in major non-OECD countries are also examined.

The June 2009 issue of the OECD Economic Outlook provides analysis of recent economic developments and economic projections for OECD and major non-OECD countries through the end of 2010. Its comprehensive statistical annex is a useful reference tool for international economic comparisons. This issue finds that a recovery is in sight but that damage from the crisis is likely to be long-lasting. As always, it includes an overall assessment as well as individual country assessments for OECD Member countries, including Canada, and major non-OECD economies, plus an extensive statistical annex. The June 2009 issue also includes a special chapter titled: Beyond the Crisis: Medium-term Challenges Relating to Potential Output, Unemployment and Fiscal Relations.

Together with a wide range of cross-country statistics, the OECD Economic Outlook provides a unique tool to keep abreast of world economic developments.
