Shipping Fees: U.S.A.

Need information about shipping fees and delivery times when ordering from Federal Publications?

The shipping fee depends on the answers to two questions:

Where are we shipping to?
How quickly do you need it?

All prices quoted below are in Canadian dollars.

Delivery in the U.S.A.

There are two options for delivery to the U.S.A:

Cost	$0.01 to $100.00*	$12.00**	Rates generally start at $30 and increase with size, weight and destination. See below for more details.
	$100.01 and up	12% (i.e., $18.00 for an order valued at $150.00)

*Value of goods being ordered before shipping fees
**For small items that don't weigh much, like folded maps, we override the shipping fee to $6.00, at our discretion.

Mail:

Xpresspost - USA is a shipping service for documents, packets and parcels that provides fast, guaranteed delivery - at a cost much less than courier - to every address in the U.S.A., including P.O. boxes. Delivery Time: 5-10 Days (see below). If applicable, any custom charges will be your responsibility. This option is much less expensive than delivery by Federal Express.

Please note that we do not use the mail service when shipping tubes (i.e., rollled maps and charts) to the U.S. We have found the FedEx Ground service to be a better option for these items. We charge the same rate as the mail charge. We require a street address for orders shipped by FedEx Ground.

If applicable, any custom charges will be your responsibility.

Courier:

Courier fees to the U.S. are expensive. If in doubt, we strongly recommend that you contact us for a quote before placing your order. We regret we are not responsible if you do not ask first and are then surprised by the cost. See below for expected delivery time.

There are two options for courier service:

Federal Express Customer Account - only available if you have an existing account number with Federal Express. You will be required to provide this account number in the order process. For detailed rates, see www.fedex.com. If FedEx is unable to charge your account, we will charge your credit card for the cost of delivery.
Federal Express Authorization - Delivery to be handled by FedEx. With this shipping method you give us permission to pass on your credit card number to FedEx. We will not charge you a shipping fee, but FedEx will charge your credit card for their delivery charges. FedEx rates generally start at $30 and increase with size, weight and destination. For detailed rates, see www.fedex.ca. If FedEx is unable to charge your credit card, we will do so on their behalf. ** THIS OPTION IS MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE THAN MAIL **

If you order online and select Federal Express (Customer Account or Authorization) as your shipping method, our online shopping cart will show a cost of $0.00 for shipping because we are not charging you directly for the cost of shipping, only for the item(s) you are purchasing from us. Federal Express will bill you separately for their delivery charges and we are not responsible for the shipping or any other fees the courier may charge you for delivery of your order.
